Illumina: John Frank

John Frank has been appointed as chief public affairs officer of Illumina, effective April 18. He will report to CEO Fancis deSouza and serve as the company's top strategic adviser and decision maker on government affairs and public policy. Frank joins Illumina after 27 years at Microsoft, where he was most recently VP of United Nations Affairs and International Organizations. Prior to that, he practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Frank holds a JD degree from Columbia Law School and a bachelor's degree in public and international affairs from Princeton University.
