Joe Bernardo

Joe Bernardo has been named chairman of the board of SeraCare Life Sciences. Bernardo is also an operating partner at Linden Capital Partners, the equity investors behind SeraCare. Prior to these roles, he served as president of the next-generation sequencing and oncology division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He has also worked for Siemens Healthcare, where he was senior vice president of the central lab business unit, and Abbott Laboratories.


Giulia Kennedy, Jessica Meng

Veracyte said that it is consolidating its clinical, medical, and R&D functions into one department, which will be headed by Giulia Kennedy, who has served as CSO since the company's founding in 2008. The company also appointed Jessica Meng as vice president of marketing. Meng joins Veracyte from Genentech where she led marketing for Avastin in oncology.


Daniel Pomp

Daniel Pomp has been named to the board of directors of CoreBiome, a genomics platform company focused on microbiomics research. Pomp previously founded GeneSeek, which provided DNA testing services for agribusiness and veterinary medicine and was acquired by Neogen in 2010. He is a member of the advisory board for AgriCapital, a boutique investment bank in NYC; the scientific advisory board for Locus Biosciences; and the board of directors for the Center for Entrepreneurial Development. Pomp is also a professor in the Departments of Genetics (School of Medicine) and Nutrition (School of Public Health) at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
