NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Genome Prairie said this week that it has tapped Chris Barker to be its chief scientific officer.

Barker, who will be based in Saskatoon and will collaborate with partners in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and at other Canadian genomics centers, joined Genome Prairie in 2006 as a project manager and has managed multiple programs funded by Genome Canada.

He also headed project management activities with regional startups BioSTAR and MetaMorphix.
