NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Rubicon Genomics today said that it has signed a series of distribution agreements covering Europe in advance of the launch of its new sequencing preparation kits.
The distribution agreements were signed with Cambridge Bioscience for the UK and Ireland; Biozym Scientific for Germany and Austria; AB Analitica for Italy; Sopachem for the Benelux countries; Nordic Biolabs for Denmark and Sweden; Immuno Diagnostic for Finland; and YBUX for Romania, the Slovak Republic, and the Czech Republic.
Rubicon said the deals cover distribution of its ThruPLEX-FD Prep Kit and PicoPLEX DNA-seq Kit for use with Illumina next-generation sequencing systems and PicoPLEX WGA Kit for use on arrays. It noted that it intends to launch ThruPLEX DNA-seq 48D kits and ThruPLEX DNA-seq 96D kits, which will enable scientists to use ThruPLEX DNA-seq kits for high-throughput applications and provide reformulated chemistries that improve performance, during the current quarter.
Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
"Our healthy increase in revenues during the past year reflects the early stages of our strategic efforts to aggressively expand our product offerings and build a network of first-rate distributors around the globe," Rubicon Genomics CEO James Koziarz said in a statement. "Now that we have our key distribution channels in place, we expect to achieve even greater sales growth going forward through broader distribution of our recently launched products and the addition of product enhancements in the coming months."
