Caliper Life Sciences has launched the Zephyr NGS Post-PCR Workstation, which handles post-PCR steps in next-generation sequencing sample-prep workflows, such as magnetic bead-based purifications, qPCR setup, sample normalization, and sample-pooling protocols.

The company said that it developed the system in response to customer requirements for separating pre-PCR and post-PCR workflows.

Streck has released the Philisa Thermal Cycler, a high-speed PCR instrument that the company claims will allow users to reduce PCR amplification time to less than 15 minutes using standard PCR chemistry.

Streck said that the Philisa system offers heating ramp rates of up to 15°C/s and cooling ramp rates of up to 12°C/s.
