Enigma Diagnostics said this week that it has appointed Joel Centeno as vice president, regulatory and quality, in the US.
Centeno, who will be based out of Enigma's new San Diego office, joins Enigma from Hologic, where he served as director, quality assurance and regulatory affairs, and oversaw the regulatory approval process for products including Cervista HPV and Inplex cystic fibrosis IVD tests, Enigma said. Centeno received a BS in materials engineering and metallurgy from the University of Florida in 1999.
Enigma Chairman and CEO John McKinley said in a statement that Centeno's "experience in achieving IVD product regulatory approval will drive the quality systems and regulatory approval necessary to deliver our molecular diagnostics point-of-care systems."
Agilent Technologies said this week that Adrian Dillon, executive vice president and CFO, will be leaving the company as of April 1.
Dillon will become chief financial and administrative officer at Skype, which provides software for voice and video calls.
Didier Hirsch, vice president, corporate controllership and tax, will be appointed acting CFO as of April 1.
Enzo Biochem has named Robert Boorstein as medical director of Enzo Clinical Labs, a full-service clinical reference laboratory serving the metropolitan New York medical community.
Boorstein is currently an associate professor of pathology at the New York University School of Medicine. Boorstein has also served as director of pathology at Bellevue Hospital/NYU Shared Laboratories, and as director of pathology at Lincoln Hospital. He conducted his residency in pathology at NYU School of Medicine after obtaining an MD from Harvard Medical School and an MA and PhD in pharmacology from Harvard.
Swedish biotech firm Denator said this week that it has appointed Patrik Bjöörn as application specialist with the responsibility for technical support.
Bjöörn joins Denator from Biolin Scientific, where he was senior sales and application specialist. Prior to that, he worked for several years at Q-Sense, holding positions that included sales director and president of the company's US branch.
