ZyGem said this week that it has appointed Gary Levine as chief financial officer; and Jeffrey Hickey as director of reagents development for forensics.

Prior to joining ZyGem, Levine was CFO and treasurer of Bostwick Laboratories. Prior to that, he served as a senior financial executive with Pfizer, Medco Health Solutions, and Nabisco. He received an MBA and BA in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Hickey most recently managed DNA casework for the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System. Previously he served as a supervisory DNA analyst at the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory; and a senior forensic analyst at the National Institute of Justice's Investigative and Forensic Sciences division. Hickey has also worked for Orchid Cellmark and Cellmark Diagnostics. He holds a MS in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.
