GenMark Diagnostics said this week that it has appointed Sue Pierce as vice president of product development.

Pierce joins GenMark from Roche Diagnostics' Ventana Medical Systems, where she most recently served as vice president of the project management office. Prior to that, she held the roles of vice president and senior director of integration and technical support; and director of product development.

Pierce also worked for Abbott Laboratories in the company's diagnostics division, holding positions in the areas of clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, and systems integration functions. Prior to that, she held various R&D and operations positions at Celanese. She holds a BS in chemistry and MS in analytical chemistry from Oklahoma State University.
