Applied Markets Watch: 3M Salmonella Assay

Premium

3M Food Safety said last week that its 3M Molecular Detection Assay Salmonella has received an extension of the current NF Validation certificate from ANFOR Certification.

The extension means that the test kit, which helps food processors and other parties detect Salmonella and consequently prevent salmonellosis, is now validated by the international organization for all human foods and environmental samples.

3M also said that the assay's most recent AOAC International Performance Tested Method matrix extension and modification has been accepted by AOAC as a First Action Official Method of Analysis.

3M's Molecular Detection assays and system uses isothermal DNA amplification and bioluminescence detection technology to amplify and detect nucleic acid in enriched food and food process samples.
