NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Rubicon Genomics said today that Eurofins Scientific will distribute its sequencing library prep products.
Under the non-exclusive deal, Eurofins will distribute all of Rubicon Genomics products in the US and Canada.
Rubicon library prep kits include the ThruPLEX DNA-seq and Plasma-seq kits. The latter was optimized for cell-free DNA and involves a three-step, single-tube reaction that takes two hours.
The sample prep kits are meant to enable liquid biopsies by yielding highly reproducible next-generation sequencing libraries from small amounts of cfDNA in plasma, according to Rubicon.
"Eurofins is a global leader in bioanalytical testing, and the company selectively distributes high quality products to its customers for use in their own laboratories," James Koziarz, CEO of Rubicon Genomics, said in a statement.
"We view their decision to distribute our kits as another confirmation of the value of our enabling technologies."
Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Rubicon recently raised $2M in growth capital financing and inked a series of distribution deals with a number of European firms last year.
Eurofins, meanwhile, this year acquired a controlling stake in Emory Genetics Laboratory and bought CLIA lab Diatherix.
