WaferGen this week launched the SmartChip human microRNA panel V2 for gene-expression profiling on the SmartChip Real-Time PCR System.

This version of the previously available human miRNA panel enables profiling on a single chip of 1,200 human microRNAs from the new miRBase version 16 sequence database. The panel also includes 12 built-in controls, the company said.

Asuragen has introduced a microRNA biofluids service that offers miRNA isolation and analysis from serum, plasma, cerebral spinal fluid, and urine.

"The ability to perform biomarker analysis from easily accessible and regenerative biofluid samples, in contrast to procuring invasive tissue biopsies, greatly facilitates sample collection and patient recruitment for clinical studies," Asuragen said in a statement.
