Phthisis Signs Distribution Deal for India

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Phthisis Diagnostics announced that it has signed a distribution deal covering India.

The deal with Genetix Biotech, headquartered in New Delhi, is the first distribution deal by Phthisis in Asia. Genetix, which has more than 30 distributors in India and Southeast Asia, will handle Phthisis' entire product line, including those in development, as part of the deal.

Charlottesville, Va.-based Phthisis currently offers the E-Sphere Simple NA kit for extracting nucleic acids from samples and is targeting molecular diagnostics for parasites and fungi, as well as molecular standards for improving laboratory quality control.

Last month, Phthisis said it raised $410,000 in angel funding. In the spring, it announced its first international distribution deal with Bio Products for Latin America.
