Phthisis Inks Distribution Deal with EliTech for Benelux Region

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Phthisis Diagnostics recently announced a distribution agreement with the EliTech Group covering the Benelux countries of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EliTech will market Phthisis's Simply Molecular product line, which includes nucleic acid extraction, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory quality control products. Charlottesville, Va.-based Phthisis, which raised $410,000 in July, also is developing a line of PCR-based assays for intestinal pathogens, including cryptosporidium, giardia, and E. histolytica.

EliTech manufactures and distributes diagnostic products for clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology. It is based in France but has offices elsewhere, including Belgium and the Netherlands.

The distribution deal is Phthisis' third since the summer, following agreements with PhileKorea to distribute the firm's products in South Korea, with Alpha Laboratories in Europe, and with Genetix Biotech in India.
