NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – UK diagnostics firm Lab21 today announced an expansion of a distribution agreement with Quidel to include AnDiaTec's real-time PCR tests in the UK.
Quidel acquired AnDiaTec, a Germany-based molecular diagnostics firm, in October.
As part of the new deal, Lab21, through its subsidiary Microgen Bioproducts, will distribute AnDiaTec's products including tests for diagnosing infectious diseases, such as norovirus, enterovirus, Epstein Barr virus, herpes simplex, varicella-zoster virus, chlamydia, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Quidel and Lab21 previously reached a deal for the distribution of the San Diego firm's QuickVue product range in the UK, including products for the rapid diagnosis of chlamydia, H. pylori, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, Streptococcus, and pregnancy.
Financial and other terms of the expanded agreement were not disclosed.
