NEW YORK — Eurofins GeneScan Technologies has signed an agreement to develop assay software components for use on UgenTec's FastFinder FastFinder PCR analysis platform, the companies said today.
FastFinder is a device-agnostic software platform that uses artificial intelligence to enable analysis and interpretation of qPCR data, workflow automation, and genotyping. Under the terms of the agreement, Freiburg, Germany-based Eurofins GeneScan Technologies — a unit of Eurofins — and UGenTec will develop FastFinder plugins that are specific to Eurofins' food-testing assay technology. These plugins, the companies said, will be validated alongside assays Eurofins is developing.
Additional terms were not disclosed.
"Testing laboratories are facing a technical revolution involving automation, robotics, and integrated workflows," Eurofins GeneScan Technologies Managing Director Nicholas Krohn said in a statement. "FastFinder offers us a platform [that] allows us to … offer our customers a unique solution in results interpretation and workflow optimization."
Hasselt, Belgium-based UgenTec has signed similar deals with Serosep, MDxHealth, Fast Track Diagnostics, and SpeeDx.
