Chiral Technologies Acquiring Diffinity Genomics

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Chiral Technologies today announced it is acquiring DNA purification firm Diffinity Genomics for an undisclosed amount. 

Upon completion of the deal, Diffinity will become a business unit of Chiral, which is part of Daicel. Diffinity CEO Joseph Marasco will leave the company in order to pursue other interests, Chiral said. 

Based in West Henrietta, New York, Diffinity has developed technology for purifying nucleic acids. The method underlies its Diffinity RapidTip technology, which is used to rapidly purify amplified DNA fragments from PCR in one step. 

Chiral is based inWest Chester, Pennyslvania and provides chiral stationary phases and analytical and preparative chiral columns for separating racemic mixtures into single enantiomers. It also provides analytical method development and custom separation services.
