NEW YORK – Becton Dickinson and CerTest Biotec announced Wednesday that a kit to detect SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus has been CE marked. The test runs on the BD Max system.
The Viasure SARS-CoV-2 (N1 + N2) Real Time PCR Detection Kit adapted for the BD Max System allows users to run a single module that tests concurrently for COVID-19, flu, and RSV with results in two to three hours.
"Together with CerTest, we can offer our customers in Europe a complete solution for COVID-19 diagnostics during the winter season," said Nikos Pavlidis, vice president of molecular diagnostics and women's health for Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based BD.
Based in Zaragoza, Spain, CerTest obtained CE mark for a molecular diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2 on the BD Max in March.
