Roche Files Patent Infringement Suit Against Cepheid Over US Sales of TB Test
NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Roche Molecular Systems has sued Cepheid for allegedly infringing a US patent assigned to Roche and covering PCR-based methods for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis and drug resistance, according to court documents filed this week.
Mayo Florida Lands $5M for New Individualized Medicine Clinic

Cancer Genetics May Invest $6M into JV with Mayo Foundation
NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Newly minted public company Cancer Genetics has disclosed that it will invest at least $2.0 million, and potentially up to $6.0 million, into a joint venture the firm formed in November 2011 with the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research.
The Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research has been awarded US Patent No. 8,362,227, "Detection of Clostridium difficile."
Franklin Cockerill, Thomas Smith, Jon Rosenblatt, and Lynne Sloan are named as inventors.
