NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – The Australian Genome Research Facility and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research have partnered to give Australian genomics researchers easier access to Garvan's Illumina HiSeq X Ten platform for human whole-genome sequencing, the institutions said today.

The researchers used an Illumina sequencing platform for the project, which they said is the first time an animal genome project has been carried out entirely in Australia.

SeqWright has acquired an Illumina HiSeq 2000 for its sequencing services business, while the Australian Genome Research Facility has acquired two HiSeq 2000 instruments.
