Illumina Viral Surveillance and Pan-Coronavirus Panels

Illumina has launched the Viral Surveillance (VSP) and Pan-Coronavirus (PanCoV) next-generation sequencing panels.

The whole-genome VSP characterizes 66 viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, monkeypox, and poliovirus. It works with a variety of sample types, including wastewater, environmental, and post-clinical.

The PanCoV panel enables detection and whole-genome sequencing of 203 known coronaviruses and more than 370 strains of animal and closely-related novel coronaviruses.
