Cole-Parmer DNA Prep Kit by Arcis Biotechnology

Cole-Parmer has launched the DNA Prep Kit by Arcis Biotechnology. The Arcis kit can be used for DNA and/or RNA extractions from fluids, such as blood, and requires as little as 30 µl of sample. It uses a two-step workflow that prepares samples in three minutes with high yields. The product is ideal for PCR, real-time PCR, isothermal amplification, sequencing, genetic profiling, and forensic studies, and can be easily integrated into automated processes, the company said.

Courtagen Spotlight Gene Panels for Neurology and Endocrinology

Courtagen Life Sciences has launched 17 new gene panels in its Spotlight line of tests, expanding its menu in neurology, endocrinology, and other disease areas. The new tests include several pain-related panels, such as migraine, neuropathic pain, and abdominal pain. They also include endocrinology-related panels for hyper/hypoglycemia (MODY+), hyperparathyroidism, and pituitary hormone deficiency, and new neurology panels for neuromuscular disorders such as periodic paralysis, dystonia, and rhabdomyolysis.

EntroGen Sample Quality Assessment Products

EntroGen has launched two sample quality assessment products, the DNA Fragmentation Quantification assay and the Library Quantification kit for Illumina. Both products determine quantity and quality of DNA samples prior to running downstream qPCR. The DNA Fragmentation Quantification assay evaluates the amount of amplifiable DNA in a sample, and detects the presence of PCR inhibitors. The Library Quantification kit for Illumina utilizes primers designed to bind to P5 and P7 adaptor oligos for the detection of properly adaptor-indexed libraries for NGS sequencing on any Illumina instrument.
