Stilla Technologies Prism Digital PCR System
Stilla Technologies has launched the Prism digital PCR system featuring six-color detection capability. The system builds upon the company's current three-color Naica digital PCR system and has been validated for use with a six-color lung cancer panel for EGFR mutation quantification in liquid biopsy-based monitoring in breast and rectal cancer. The company first described the six-color workflow for non-small cell lung cancer mutations in a proof-of-concept study published last year, and replicated the approach to validate the breast and rectal cancer panels. Stilla said the system has also been validated for use with a panel for detecting and quantifying genetically modified organisms in the food supply.
The company said the new system can provide results in under three hours, uses the same workflow as the Naica system, and is compatible with current Stilla consumables.
Adaptive Biotechnologies, Microsoft ImmuneCode COVID-19 Database
Adaptive Biotechnologies and Microsoft have launched ImmuneCode, an open database related to the immune response of individuals with COVID-19.
The deidentified data contains information on T cells shown to recognize antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, obtained from blood samples. It provides a population-level view into the adaptive immune response; samples have been drawn from geographically and ethnically diverse patients as part of Adaptive's ImmuneRace study. The data will be freely available to any researcher, public health official, or organization around the world, Adaptive said.
Lexogen TraPR Small RNA Isolation Kit
Lexogen has launched its Trans-Kingdom, Rapid, Affordable Purification of RISCs (TraPR) Small RNA Isolation Kit, which it said allows for gel-free isolation of functional small RNAs (sRNAs). The firm said the kit enables specific isolation of loaded Argonaut family proteins (AGOs) through a short and simple single column purification, does not require prior sample characterization, and generates high-quality sRNA preparations for next-generation sequencing.
Lexogen said that TraPR enables universal, fast, and bias-free isolation of RNA-induced silencing complexes and ensures an accurate representation of functional silencing sRNAs without time-consuming gel extraction steps. Users can combine the kit with Lexogen's Small RNA-Seq Library Preparation Kit.
