Zymo Research Gets CE-IVD Mark for Sample Collection Devices

NEW YORK — Zymo Research said on Friday that it has received CE-IVD marking for three of its DNA/RNA Shield sample collection devices.

According to the Irvine, California-based company, its DNA/RNA Shield collection tube with swab, its DNA/RNA Shield Saliva/Sputum Collection Kit, and its DNA/RNA Shield Fecal Collection Tube are now CE marked for in vitro diagnostic use.

The devices are used for medical sample collection, preservation, and transportation at ambient temperature with Zymo's DNA/RNA Shield stabilization solution, which inactivates infectious pathogens including SARS-CoV-2.

In August, Zymo received CE-IVD marking for its Quick SARS-CoV-2 rRT-PCR kit.
