Mobidiag Gets CE-IVD Mark for GI Virus Test

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Finnish molecular diagnostics firm Mobidiag said today that its Amplidiag Viral GE gastrointestinal virus test has received CE-IVD marking and is now available in Europe.

The real-time PCR-based test is designed to simultaneously detect diarrhea-causing enteric viruses —  including norovirus GI, norovirus GII, rotavirus, sapovirus, astrovirus, and adenoviruses 40 and 41 — using DNA extracted from a stool sample.

"By obtaining the CE-IVD marking, Amplidiag Viral GE adds ... to the Amplidag product line, further expanding Mobidiag's gastrointestinal test panels and making it one of the most comprehensive offers on the market," Mobidiag CEO Tuomas Tenkanen said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Mobidiag received CE-IVD marking for its Amplidiag Easy automated sample prep system.
