Luminex Receives CE Marking for Aries System, Herpes Assay

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Luminex today announced that it has received CE-IVD Marking for its Aries system and Aries Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) 1&2 Assay.

"We are excited to have received a CE-IVD mark for the ARIES System and … HSV 1&2 Assay, and look forward to rapidly launching this revolutionary system in Europe," Thomas Pracht, Luminex managing director for Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa, said in a statement.

Aries is a real-time PCR-based sample-to-answer system that detects and amplifies nucleic acids. The HSV assay detects and types HSV DNA in cutaneous or mucocutaneous lesion specimens, or in cerebrospinal fluid. Both the system and test were approved in the US in October 2015.
