Eurofins Scientific Acquires Vietnamese Genetic Testing Firm Gentis

NEW YORK — Eurofins Scientific said on Wednesday that its subsidiary Eurofins Clinical Testing Lux Sarl has acquired Vietnamese genetic testing firm Genetic Testing Service JSC (Gentis).

According to Eurofins, Gentis provides specialized DNA testing services in Vietnam including for reproductive health, genealogy, oncology, and COVID-19, and generated about €10 million ($11.4 million) in revenues last year.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"This acquisition … supports our growth strategies in both Asia and advanced specialized clinical diagnostics," Eurofins CEO Gilles Martin said in a statement.

The deal follows other transactions to implement these strategies. In late 2021, for example, Luxembourg-based Eurofins acquired Japanese molecular biology-based testing provider Genetic Lab.
