Centogene, U-Diagnostics Partner to Expand COVID-19 Testing in the Netherlands

NEW YORK – Centogene and U-Diagnostics said on Wednesday that they are collaborating to expand COVID-19 testing in communities throughout the Netherlands.

Under the agreement, Centogene, based in Rostock, Germany, will provide its CentoSwab oropharyngeal dry swabs to U-Diagnostics, which will collect samples together with its partners. Centogene will then perform RT-PCR testing in one of its laboratories. U-Diagnostics, based in Baarn, the Netherlands, will receive the test results and deliver them to patients.

U-Diagnostics, which has been offering its own coronavirus testing in the Netherlands since March, is hoping to boost test numbers through the collaboration. "With the significant expansion of available tests that we will be able to provide in the Netherlands and the sharing of our expertise, we will be able to make a substantial contribution to preventing further outbreaks and keeping our economy and communities running," U-Diagnostics representatives said in a statement.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
