AdvaMed Partners With Dx Companies to Create National COVID-19 Supply Registry

NEW YORK – The Advanced Medical Technology Association announced Tuesday it has created a COVID-19 diagnostic supply registry for the US in partnership with 13 commercial diagnostics manufacturers, including Abbott, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Beckman Coulter, Hologic, and Roche Diagnostics.

The registry is meant to help state and federal governments respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and provide a standardized supply registry. It will compile information from the diagnostic partners and publicly available data on daily tests performed and offer weekly updates about the number of molecular, antigen, and serology tests shipped in the US on both the state and national levels.

Other firms involved with the registry are Becton Dickinson, BioMérieux, Cepheid, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Qiagen, Sekisui Diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The organization said the registry will streamline communications and data sharing between diagnostic firms and the government, facilitate collaboration with public health stakeholders to optimize access to COVID-19 testing, and standardize reporting.

According to its first released dataset, more than 65 million tests have been manufactured and shipped across the country since the pandemic began, and 800,000 tests are shipped per day.
