People in the News: Jeremy Jones, Andrew Macdonald


CombiMatrix has appointed Jeremy Jones to its board of directors, the Irvine, Calif.-based molecular diagnostics firm said this week.

Jones is currently chairman of On Assignment, a provider of professionals in the life sciences, healthcare, and technology sectors. He is also on the advisory board of MedidaMetrics. Jones was an investor in and chairman of home health service companies Byram Healthcare Centers and Lifecare Solutions until their sales in 2008 and 2011, respectively.

He has also served on the boards of US Labs, now part of Laboratory Corporation of America; Byram Healthcare, which was acquired by OPG in 2008; and Cardium Healthcare, which was acquired by CenCorp Health in 2006.

Liquid handling technology specialist Redd&Whyte has appointed Andrew Macdonald as head of tech services.

Macdonald joins Redd&Whyte from Genesis Diagnostics, where he was head of microarray technologies for seven years. He also worked at BioRobotics, now part of Genomic Solutions, as a global applications specialist.
