Affymetrix has appointed Andrew Last to the position of chief operating officer, and named David Weber as its chief commercial officer, the company said in a recent US Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Last had been executive vice president of Affymetrix's Genetic Analysis business unit, while Weber's previous title was executive vice president of global commercial operations. The company said the organizational changes will enable its CEO Frank Witney to "focus more time on refining the strategic vision and product portfolio of the company as its business continues to diversify and the underlying technologies evolve."
