Duncan Hall has joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as European regional marketing manager for the company's microbiology division. Hall previously served as commercial director and sales and marketing director at Roslin, UK-based Arrayjet for six years. Before that, he was a product specialist at Agilent Technologies and an account manager at Genomic Solutions.

Jill Hagenkord has been named chief medical officer at Complete Genomics. Hagenkord joins the firm from iKaryos Diagnostics. She also served as an associate professor at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and director of molecular pathology and clinical genomics in its department of pathology. Before joining iKaryos, Hagenkord worked as a pathologist for Deltagen. She received her MD from Stanford University School of Medicine and did her residency training in pathology at the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Iowa.
