Blue Shield of California to Cover CombiMatrix's Diagnostic Lab Services

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – CombiMatrix today announced that Blue Shield of California has agreed to provide coverage for its diagnostic laboratory services.

The insurer is the third largest in California with more than 3 million members, according to CombiMatrix and combined with the Irvine, Calif.-based firm's existing Multiplan contract, more than 60 million covered lives now have access to CombiMatrix's services, it said.

"The BSCA contract not only increases patient access, but as importantly, facilitates streamlined reimbursement, further supporting the rapid growth of our company,” CombiMatrix President and CEO Mark McDonough said in a statement.
