NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Luminex announced after the close of the market Wednesday that Life Technologies will sell and distribute the firm's Magpix instrument worldwide.

Magpix, which was launched last year, is a compact multiplex analyzer that rapidly detects 50 different analytes simultaneously on a single sample, including proteins and nucleic acids. The system is based on Luminex's xMAP technology and provides nearly 5,000 data points in under an hour.
