William Pulleyblank, formerly director of the Deep Computing Institute for IBM Research, has been tapped to manage IBM’s new Center for Business Optimization, which will combine management consulting, mathematical research, business performance management, software capabilities, and deep computing power to help solve some complex business problems, the company said. Pulleyblank oversaw the development of the Blue Gene supercomputer while at IBM Research, according to a statement released by IBM.
