Whitehead’s Lander Joins Aclara BioSciences Board

OUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--Aclara BioSciences announced that Eric Lander has joined its board of directors. Lander is director of the Whitehead/MIT Center for Genome Research, a member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, and a founder and director of Millennium Pharmaceuticals.

"Aclara’s technology can dramatically accelerate numerous areas of genomics research," said Lander. He noted that the company "has put in place the business relationships to enable it to take advantage of these opportunities." Joseph Limber, Aclara’s president and CEO, said Lander’s "knowledge, experience, and insights will be extremely valuable as we develop our microfluidics technology for a broad range of genomics applications." Aclara uses a proprietary microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology to create new tools for genomics and pharmaceutical drug screening.
