Waters, Premier Biosoft Ink Lipidomics Collaboration

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Waters and Premier Biosoft International have struck a co-marketing agreement to offer mass spectrometers and software for use in lipidomics research, Waters said today.

Under the agreement, the companies will co-market Waters' mass spec tools with Premier Biosoft's SimLipid lipid characterization software, which performs mass precursor ion searches to identify, compare, and rank lipid candidates. The software also mines lipid structures for class, reactions, pathways, and enzymes, and generates portable reports and images in various file formats.

The SimLipid software will be marketed for sale with Waters' Acquity UPLC and high-resolution, exact mass Synapt and Xevo mass spectrometers, Waters said.

The companies already have a co-marketing agreement in place covering marketing for Premier Biosoft's SimGlycan data analysis software tool for glycan and glycopeptide structure elucidation.
