Third Wave, Sanger to Study SNPs on Chromosome 22

INXTON, UK--The Sanger Centre here said it will collaborate with Third Wave Technologies of Madison, Wis., to construct a high-density, single-nucleotide polymorphism map of human chromosome 22, which the center recently completed sequencing. Third Wave will develop and supply its proprietary Invader assays for approximately 2,000 unique SNPs positioned at roughly 40 Kb intervals along the chromosome. Sanger Centre said it will use the Invader chromosome 22 panel to type unamplified genomic DNA from a select group of several hundred individuals.
