Thermo Fisher Scientific, Genialis Ink Comarketing Agreement for RNA-Seq Data Analysis

NEW YORK – Genialis today announced a comarketing agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific on data analysis for RNA sequencing.

Under the terms of the agreement, the partners will integrate Thermo Fisher's Invitrogen Collibri Stranded RNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina next-generation sequencing systems with the Genialis Expressions analysis software. The integrated workflow could ease the data-analysis bottleneck for RNA-seq, allowing "for more streamlined processing of … data sets for applications such as biomarker discovery," the firms said in a statement.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Genialis is a leader in providing industrial-strength analytics to pharma, biopharma, and large sequencing centers. Through our collaboration, data analysis will now be as rapid as the library preparation, easing the barriers to high-throughput sequencing to advance science for all," Raymond Mercier, Thermo Fisher VP and general manager of molecular biology, said in a statement.

Houston-based Genialis has also partnered with Roche to integrate its gene expression analysis software with KAPA RNA-seq library kits.
