Thermo Fisher, Premier Biosoft Ink Co-marketing Agreement

Thermo Fisher Scientific and Premier Biosoft have agreed to co-market Premier's SimGlycan software.

SimGlycan is a glycan and glycopeptide tandem mass spectrometry data analysis tool that includes an additional module for validating structures identified using multi stage/sequential mass spectrometry.

The software is designed for use with a number of Thermo's Orbitrap and ion trap mass spectrometers.

In a statement, Andreas Hunter said that the agreement enables Thermo to offer an "integrated solution" for characterizing glycans, which are oligosaccharide or polysaccharide molecules found attached to proteins and lipids that can be used as markers for disease.

Kay Brown, Premier's president, said that partnering with Thermo provides her firm an opportunity to leverage a "broader sales and marketing channel" to reach its target customer base.
