Texas Sequencing Service Establishes UK Lab

SAFFRON WALDEN, UK--Lark Technologies of Houston, Texas, has established a contract service laboratory at its UK branch location here to provide high-quality, quick-turnaround DNA sequencing services to an expanding multinational customer base, the company said. Demand for Lark's quick turnaround services increased 72 percent over the past year, the company claimed. The operation will be headed by David Buck, former group leader at the Sanger Centre, responsible for establishing that institution's first human genome sequencing team. Buck also spent six years cloning plant, fungal, and bacterial genes encoding enzymes from key target pathways at Schering Agrochemicals.
