SAN FRANCISCO--The privately held Terrapin Technologies pharmaceutical discovery company made several appointments and promotions that it said reflect progress made in applying Terrapin's proprietary chemoinformatics technology. Hugo Villar was promoted to vice-president, discovery technologies, where he will focus on expanding Terrapin's drug discovery platform; Edgardo Laborde, who established internal combinatorial chemistry capabilities since joining Terrapin in 1997 from Ariad Pharmaceuticals, was promoted to associate director, combinatorial chemistry; Steven Schow, most recently director of chemistry at CV Therapeutics, joined the company as senior director, medicinal chemistry; and Robert Lum, formerly of Arris Pharmaceuticals, will join the company as associate director, medicinal chemistry.
