CHICAGO (GenomeWeb) – Sunquest Information Systems will integrate its Mitogen laboratory information and genetic analysis system with clinical molecular decision support technology for oncology from N-of-One, the companies said today. The integration is intended to speed the process for pathologists in hospitals and reference labs to deliver patient-specific genetic reports from next-generation sequencing panels.
N-of-One helps pathologists create reports for clinicians that include genetic variant interpretation, DNA change, effect, and causative condition, according to the company.
"Together we are expanding the reach of precision medicine by making it easy for hospital pathology labs, commercial laboratories, and precision medicine programs to obtain and deliver the highest-quality clinical interpretation of each patient's cancer in the least amount of time," N-of-One CEO Chris Cournoyer said in a statement.
Arizona-based Sunquest said that CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories, a lab company with 65 community-based pathologists in the Pacific Northwest, has signed on to be the first customer of the integrated product.
