Stan Letovsky, Joe Beery

Helicos BioSciences has tapped Stan Letovsky as vice president for scientific informatics. He will oversee efforts to develop the computational and data analysis platform of the Helicos Genetic Analysis System, build Helicos’ scientific computing infrastructure, and help drive the company’s open source initiative.
 
Letovsky has held informatics management roles at Codon Devices, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and Monsanto. He was also an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
 

 
Invitrogen has appointed Joe Beery to be head of its global information technology efforts. Beery has 25 years of experience in information technology strategy and implementation, the company said this week. Beery formerly was US Airways’ senior VP and chief information officer. He also was CIO at America West, and he worked at Motorola Semiconductor and at NV Philips.
