Strand Genomics, a Bangalore, India-based bioinformatics company, has launched Soochika, a knowledge management tool for microarray analysis, clinical data analysis, protein structure analysis, ADME, sequence analysis, and mass spectrometry.
Soochika, which means “needle” in Sanskrit, “culls out biologically relevant knowledge from large amounts of data,” according to Strand. The first release of the software combines publicly available and proprietary algorithms for microarray data analysis. Additional analytical abilities will be available in future versions.
A 60-day free trial of GeneStudio Pro sequence analysis software is available for download from www.genestudio.com. The software offers a sequence format converter as well as alignment and contig editors and a phylogenetic analysis component.
