Silicon Graphics Offers Supportfolio Online, Replacing CD-ROM Version


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--Silicon Graphics here has replaced its CD-ROM-based Supportfolio product with Supportfolio Online, a suite of web-enabled electronic support tools that allows customers to better manage and troubleshoot Silicon Graphics systems. The company's equipment is widely used in bioinformatics efforts.

Supportfolio Online's new features include Supportfolio Patch, which allows users to search for and download individual patches or patch sets; Supportfolio Search, which offers keyword or topical searches of technical support information; and Supportfolio Connect, which permits users to log and manage support cases electronically, and which will initially only be available in the US and Canada. In addition there is a new subscription service that sends e-mail notification of new patch sets, services, and Pipeline articles.
