MongoDB said this week that Seven Bridges Genomics has selected its database infrastructure to support its next-generation sequencing data analysis platform.
Seven Bridges' offers a cloud-based platform allows users construct and run genomic data analysis pipelines, transfer information between tools, and share their results. According to MongoDB, its document-oriented database system will help Seven Bridges' customers store complex, contextually rich metadata for genomics pipelines and collect statistics from distributed computation resources.
"MongoDB supports our long-term requirements for scalability and it allows us to quickly add features, without forcing us to rethink our model and architecture or invest heavily in reengineering our infrastructure," Igor Bogicevic, Seven Bridges co-founder and chief technology officer, said in a statement.
The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
