Selventa, YarcData Ink Hardware Partnership to Support Pharma

YarcData, a spinoff from supercomputing firm Cray, and Selventa, a bioinformatics firm that serves the pharmaceutical industry, have signed an agreement that allows the latter to run its data analysis engine on Urika, YarcData's graph analytics appliance (BI 4/19/2013).

The combined solution is expected to support pharma's drug discovery and development efforts by providing tools to analyze large or combined datasets and identify relationships between genes and proteins, treatments and disease mechanisms, as well as biomarkers of predictive and prognostic indications.

The financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed.
