NEW YORK--The pharmaceutical consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the Automation Partnership, the Cambridge, UK, developer of large-scale automation systems for the pharmaceutical industry, announced a joint initiative called the Drug Discovery Factory to help clients boost drug research productivity.
The Drug Discovery Factory uses robotic and manufacturing techniques to produce increases in speed and accuracy for drug screening by automating laboratory processes. It involves establishing standalone customer facilities with screening technologies and related supply functions based in one location under a production-oriented management.
