NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Premier Biosoft announced today that it has partnered with Florida International University (FIU) to develop mass spectrometry-based data analysis software for use in lipidomics research.
Under the terms of the deal, Premier will work with FIU researcher Francisco Fernandez-Lima to create lipidomics workflows using mass spec technologies such as high-resolution fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance, data-independent acquisition, and data-dependent acquisition. The partners will generate data using these technologies on different instrumentation platforms to help Premier improve data interpretation, heuristics, and its product databases.
Additional terms were not disclosed.
"Our goal is to push the limits of mass spectrometry by developing an integrated approach that involves next-generation instrumentation and methodologies that help in establishing advanced lipidomics analysis solutions for environmental, biomedical, and behavioral research," Fernandez-Lima said in a statement. "Our collaboration with Premier Biosoft will support the goal and provide the necessary software support to carry out the analysis."
