NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) — PetaGene, a UK-based developer of genomic data management software, announced that it has raised $2.1 million in a new round of financing.
The round was led by existing investor Romulus Capital and included Entrepreneur First backed by Greylock Partners, and other investors in London and Silicon Valley. PetaGene — which has raised $3.2 million to date — said it will use the funding to expand its technical team in Cambridge and grow its global sales operations. The company also aims to increase its product offerings, which currently include PetaSuite and PetaSuite Cloud Edition for genomic data compression.
Earlier this year, PetaGene hired a senior vice president and general manager of US operations.
